WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura 2026 Ventus TR Blue with VeloCore+ is the mid-launch, low-spin profile in the Ventus TR family, and the one to start with if you aren't sure which TR you need. It plays like a Ventus Blue with less twist: Spread Tow carbon fabric in the mid and handle cuts the twisting that happens when you go hard from the top, and the VeloCore+ core keeps the tip from turning on off-center hits. This is the raw shaft: 46" uncut, 3.0" parallel tip, 0.335" tip diameter, in 12 weight and flex options from a 5 R to a 9 X. If you build your own clubs or have a shop you trust, this is the listing you want.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Have a quick or aggressive transition and feel a standard Ventus Blue get loose at the top
  • Want spin down without giving up launch, and a mid flight that holds its line in wind
  • Play the original Ventus TR Blue and want the VeloCore+ version with the same flight
  • Build your own clubs or have a fitter who'll cut, tip and install it for you

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need help getting the ball up, or have a smooth tempo that never really loads the handle. The TR Red launches higher and has the softest tip in the TR line
  • Already launch it low enough and want the spin lower still. Go to the TR Black
  • Want it cut to length with the adapter and grip already on, ready to screw into your driver. Order the assembled TR Blue instead

How It Plays

Same flight as Blue, less twist. Every option in the table is mid launch, low spin, with a mid bend point. What changes is the mid and handle. Spread Tow is a flat carbon fabric that resists twisting through transition, so you can load it hard without the face getting away from you. It feels firmer in the hands than a standard Blue. A smooth tempo may never notice. A quick one notices on the first swing.

Where it sits in the TR family. The TR Red launches higher with more spin and a softer tip, and the TR Black flies lower with the firmest tip of the three. Compare tip flex in the 6 S: Red 96, Blue 94, Black 87, and the number drops as the tip gets stiffer. Blue sits in the middle, which is why it fits more swings than either sibling.

The core is the whole point. VeloCore+ is a multi-material bias core that runs the length of the shaft and keeps the tip from twisting on off-center hits. The plus version adds another bias core material over the original VeloCore, and the goal is the same: tighter dispersion and a little more ball speed on the hits that aren't flush.

Picking a weight and flex, and what to tip

  • Weight before flex. Each series step adds about 8 to 10 g. If your current driver shaft is in the low 60s, start with the TR Blue 5. Mid to high 60s, the 6. When you want more stability, go up a series before you go up a flex. The heavier shaft calms the head without making the whole club feel stiff.
  • TX is not a half step. The 6 TX and 7 TX have butt flex ratings of 70 and 66, against 76 and 72 in the X. That's a Tour-stiff handle. Unless you're an X flex player who still feels the handle give through transition, stay in the X.
  • The 8 and 9 series are fairway weights. At 87 g and 98 g they're built for 3 woods and up, and the mini driver crowd. Very few golfers want that much weight in a full-size driver.
  • Tip trimming. Fujikura's chart is 0" for a driver or 3 wood, 0.5" for a 5 wood, 1.0" for a 7 wood and 1.5" for a 9 wood, and every inch you tip is roughly one flex stiffer. Want to sit between S and X? Tip 0.5" and butt trim to length.

Graphite. Raw length 46", parallel tip section 3.0", tip diameter 0.335" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.

How the Ventus TR Family Compares

Profile Launch Spin Bend Point Flexes Weights Tip Flex (6 S)
TR Red Mid-high Mid-low Mid (7 X, 8 X, 9 X: mid-high) R2 to X 60 to 96 g 96
TR Blue (You're here) Mid Low Mid R to TX 60 to 98 g 94
TR Black Low Low High S and X 61 to 97 g 87

Launch, spin, bend point and tip flex are Fujikura's ratings. Want the Blue profile without Spread Tow? That's the Ventus Blue VeloCore+, a little softer through the handle and the better pick for a smoother tempo. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an adapter to use this shaft?

Only if your driver or fairway has an adjustable hosel, which most do. The 0.335" tip fits every current adapter, and you can pick one up from our shaft adapters. If you'd rather not epoxy it yourself, the assembled listing includes the adapter and the install.

I play the original Ventus TR Blue. What actually changed?

The flight didn't. Both generations are mid launch, low spin, mid bend point, and the numbers nearly overlap: the original TR Blue 6 S is 68 g with a 94 tip and 82 butt rating, and the 2026 6 S is 69 g with the same 94 and 82. The change is inside. VeloCore+ adds another bias core material, which shows up as tighter dispersion on the hits you catch toward the heel or toe. If you flush everything, it's subtle. If you don't, you'll feel it.

Does it work in a fairway wood?

Yes, and it's a good one for a 3 wood that balloons. Most golfers go one series heavier in the fairway than in the driver, so a TR Blue 6 driver player usually ends up with a 7 or 8 in the 3 wood. The 9 X is the one we'd put in a 7 or 9 wood. Follow Fujikura's tip trim chart above for 5 woods and up.

I'm between flexes. Which way do I go?

Go by your transition, not just your speed. A quick, aggressive move from the top wants the stiffer of the two. A smooth tempo at the same speed is happier in the softer one. This shaft already has a firm handle, so when you're on the fence, take the softer of the two and go up a series in weight if you want more stability.

Does this come with a grip or adapter?

No. This listing is the bare 46" shaft, nothing installed, nothing cut. If you want it ready to screw into your head, order the assembled TR Blue instead and choose your adapter, length and grip at checkout.
