WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Aldila NV Green has been one of Aldila's core wood shafts since 2003. The '23 version keeps the same structure with new cosmetics: a low-launch, low-spin profile, a constant taper design for a smooth, stable feel, and Aldila's NexGen Micro Laminate Technology. We sell it in the 55, 65, 75 and 85 series, A through X flex. It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a lower, more penetrating flight with less spin
  • Like a smooth, consistent feel from a constant taper design
  • Want a wide range of weights, from 57 grams (55 A) up to 89 grams (85 X)
  • Want a proven aftermarket shaft at a fair price

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need help getting the ball in the air: Aldila rates the NV Green low launch
  • Want a counterbalanced or ultra-light build
  • Want a ladies flex: Aldila makes the NV Pink 55 in L flex, rated mid launch, mid spin

How It Plays

Aldila rates the NV Green low launch, low spin with a mid/high kick point in every weight. Its constant taper design gives a smooth, stable feel, so the shaft loads the same way swing after swing.

The NV Green uses Aldila's NexGen Micro Laminate Technology (MLT): more than 20 layers of ultra-thin, aerospace-grade prepreg that remove gaps and dead zones from the build, for more consistent feel and fewer shots lost to shaft variation. High-strength carbon fiber keeps it stable.

Aldila refreshed the cosmetics for 2023 and says the structure and technology stay the same as the NV Green golfers have played for two decades.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the NV Green for?

Aldila's driver fitting chart puts the 55 A at up to 80 mph, R at 81-90 mph, S at 91-105 mph, and X (65 and 75 series) at 106 mph and up. The heavier 85 series in S and X suits strong players who want a heavier build.

What changed in the '23 NV Green?

The cosmetics. Aldila says the structure and technology platform are the same as the NV Green it has made since 2003, including the constant taper design and Micro Laminate Technology.

What is Micro Laminate Technology?

Aldila builds the NV Green from more than 20 layers of ultra-thin prepreg. Thinner layers leave fewer gaps and dead zones inside the shaft, so each one plays more consistently.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • NV 55 green I know im leaning to 3.9 tork what is the difference between A flex & R flex other than 2 grams of weight. I'm kinda in-between .

    Hi Joseph,

The A-Flex and R-Flex both have the same published 3.9° torque, so torque is not the main difference. The A-Flex is approximately 2 grams lighter, but more importantly, it has a softer overall flex profile and will be easier to load during the swing. The R-Flex will feel firmer and provide more stability for a faster or more aggressive swing.

    Since you are between flexes:

    • Choose A-Flex if you have a smoother tempo, need help loading the shaft, or prefer a softer feel.
    • Choose R-Flex if you have a quicker transition, want more control, or your current Regular-flex driver performs well.

The best choice depends more on your driver swing speed and tempo than the small weight difference. Please let us know your approximate swing speed and your current shaft flex, and we can help narrow it down.

    Best,
    Jim
