Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want a lower, flatter flight with low spin
- Like an active, soft handle feel with a stable mid and tip
- Want a wide choice of weights, from 47 g to 85 g
- Swing from about 71 mph up to 110+ mph
Not the right fit if you...
- Need more height: the Tour AD DI is rated high launch
- Want a soft tip to help the ball up
- Want the lowest-launching Tour AD: the VF is rated low to mid with a very stiff tip
How It Plays
Graphite Design builds the XC with a soft butt section and a stiff mid and stiff tip, with a mid-high kick point. Its spec table rates the XC-4 and most XC-5 builds mid launch, and the XC-5 X and every XC-6 to XC-8 build low/mid launch. Spin runs low/mid on the lighter and softer builds and low on the rest.
Toray M40X carbon fiber prepreg runs through the mid to tip section, and Toray T1100G with NANOALLOY sits in the tip. Graphite Design says the combination keeps the tip stable without losing feel.
It is finished in black with silver and red accents and a matte clear coat.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
Debating between this and the Tour AD VF. Which one is better to help shape the ball flight? Are they similar in feel? I'm 62, play 3-4x a week drive about 210 with Callaway Paradym X.
Both are mid launch, mid spin shaft with a smooth feel profile. The main difference is the VF has a slightly softer tip that can give more release in the swing through and actually provides more feedback. Sometimes advanced players like that, especially when if you are trying to shape the shot. The XC has a more reinforced tip and a counter balance design, so its helpful if you like more of a controlled feel. The XC is also good for minimizing dispersion in case you tend to have off center impacts. Overall the VF may be a better fit for shot shaping, but if you are looking for more forgiveness the XC would be a better choice.
