Overview
The Graphite Design Tour AD EK — short for “Extra Kick” — is engineered to deliver a mid/high launch with controlled low/mid spin, giving golfers the ideal combination of increased carry distance, exceptional accuracy, and responsive feel. Manufactured exclusively in Japan, the Tour AD EK is built for players seeking effortless launch and maximum distance without sacrificing control.
Its specialized EI bend profile pairs a stiff butt section and firm mid-section with a stable tip section to maximize energy transfer and promote powerful, efficient launch conditions. Constructed from premium aerospace-grade carbon fiber, the Tour AD EK incorporates new Toray T1200G carbon fiber technology in the tip section along with Graphite Design’s exclusive AD Shield technology — delivering outstanding feel, enhanced stability, efficient energy transfer, and the consistent performance golfers expect from the Tour AD lineup.
This listing is the fully assembled version: our team installs the adapter tip that matches your driver head, trims the shaft to your specified playing length, and wraps it with your chosen grip — so it drops straight into your driver head and is ready to play.

Build & Installation
Our team follows Graphite Design’s installation guidelines during assembly: a minimum of 0.5″ of the parallel tip section is always left above the hosel to protect shaft performance and integrity. Standard-bore tip trim reference:
| Driver | 3 Wood | 5 Wood | 7 Wood | 9 Wood |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.0″ | 0.5″ | 1.0″ | 1.0″ | 1.0″ |
Tell us your desired playing length and driver head make/model at checkout, and our build team will select the correct adapter tip, trim, and assemble your shaft to spec. Improper installation can affect shaft performance and voids the manufacturer warranty — that’s handled for you with this assembled option.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
How does the EK compare to the Tour AD VF?
Both the Graphite Design Tour AD EK and Tour AD VF are designed to provide stability while maintaining a strong ball flight, but they have different launch and feel characteristics.
The Tour AD EK is generally the better choice if you're looking for higher launch with controlled low-to-mid spin. It has a smoother, more responsive feel and can be a good fit for players with a smoother tempo.
The Tour AD VF is designed with a mid-to-low launch and low spin profile. It generally feels firmer and more stable through the transition, making it a better option for players who prefer a more aggressive load and want to keep launch and spin down.
If your goal is to get the ball up a little easier without adding a lot of spin, we would lean toward the Tour AD EK.
-
Would you recommend the EK for a smoother swing tempo?
Yes, the Graphite Design Tour AD EK can be a good option for a smoother swing tempo. It has a responsive feel that can work well for players who prefer a smoother transition and want help generating launch without adding excessive spin.
That said, shaft fit also depends on your swing speed and how you load the shaft.
-
Is this shaft good for someone who wants to get the ball up a little easier without adding a ton of spin?
Yes, the Graphite Design Tour AD EK would be a good option for someone looking to get the ball up a little easier without adding a significant amount of spin.
The Tour AD EK is designed to provide a mid-to-high launch with controlled low-to-mid spin, making it a good choice for players who want a little more launch while still maintaining control of their spin.
