WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Speeder NX Violet is a mid-high launch, mid spin driver shaft built for golfers with swing speeds between 75-105 mph who want the lively, speed-oriented feel the Speeder line is known for -- now with Variable Torque Core (VTC) technology for tighter dispersion and more consistent performance. The most versatile profile in the current NX lineup, with the widest range of weight and flex options from 40g to 70g. Arrives fully assembled with your adapter and grip installed. Plug it in and play.
Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Swing between 75-105 mph and want mid-high launch with mid spin
- Like the feel of a lively, responsive shaft with a kick-oriented release through impact
- Want more height and carry than the NX Gold delivers
- Play a higher MOI driver head and want optimized energy transfer -- DHX technology was built for this
- Want the widest flex and weight range in the NX lineup (40g through 70g, R2 through X)
- Prefer the Speeder feel over the Ventus family -- more active, less stability-focused
Not the right fit if you...
- Already launch too high or spin too much -- the NX Gold's lower launch and tighter spin control is the better call
- Swing under 75 mph -- look at the Ventus White, Air Speeder, or Sakura instead
- Want maximum face stability and dispersion control -- the Ventus TR Blue with VeloCore+ is better suited for that
- Have a very aggressive, hard-loading transition -- the Ventus TR family handles that better
How It Plays
The NX Violet has a similar bend profile to the NX Gold but with torque tightened 10% in both the tip and butt sections. That tighter torque increases speed and produces a more efficient, higher launch through impact -- which is why the Violet launches higher and faster-feeling than the Gold despite a similar overall stiffness profile. It's the defining feature of the Violet and what separates it from every other shaft in the NX lineup.
DHX Technology is exclusive to the NX Violet within the Speeder NX family. It incorporates a second carbon bias layer at a non-traditional angle -- which encourages faster ball speeds specifically with higher MOI driver heads. If you're playing a modern oversized driver head (TaylorMade Qi10, Callaway AI Smoke, Ping G430 Max, etc.), the Violet is optimized for exactly that head geometry in a way the Gold isn't.
Variable Torque Core (VTC) adds Fujikura's proprietary zone-specific torque management throughout the shaft, which refines twisting in targeted regions along the core. The practical result is a shaft that feels lively and responsive through the swing but tightens up at impact -- you get the energy of a Speeder with better dispersion than earlier NX generations.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
I am looking at the Speeder NX or a Ventus to replace my Krank Speeder X Tour Stiff shaft. For context, my 7W is a Qi4D with stock REAX FW 65S that shaft feels like it's perfect for my swing. The Speeder X Tour on my Krank 5W feels likes it's a bit more stiff and I have trouble launching the ball from turf. I was looking at the Violet model. Would you recommend the Violet or another shaft model?
Hi James,
Thanks for your question and for providing some background—that really helps.
Based on what you've described, it sounds like the Krank Speeder X Tour Stiff in your 5-wood may simply be a little too stout for your swing. Since you mentioned that your Qi4D 7-wood with the stock REAX FW 65S feels perfect, I'd be inclined to recommend a shaft with a smoother loading profile rather than something that's extremely tip-stiff.
The Fujikura Speeder NX Violet is definitely worth considering. It has a smooth feel, is easy to load, and generally produces a mid-to-high launch, making it a good option for players looking to improve launch and consistency from the turf without sacrificing stability.
Another excellent option would be the Ventus Blue, which offers a similar balance of stability and feel. If you're looking for maximum ease of launch, the NX Violet would probably be my first choice between the two.
To make the best recommendation, could you let me know:
- Approximately what is your driver swing speed?
- About how far do you hit your 5-wood and 7-wood?
- Which Ventus model are you considering (Blue, Red, or Black)?
- Are you looking for more distance, a higher launch, or simply a shaft that feels easier to load?
With that information, I'd be happy to narrow it down and recommend the shaft that best fits your swing.
Thanks,
Jim
