WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Mitsubishi Diamana TB is the 5th generation Diamana "Blueboard": a mid launch, mid spin shaft that Mitsubishi built to feel as smooth as possible. It is firm in the mid section with an active tip. We build two versions: the light 40 series in X flex (51 g) and the 70 series in S (74 g). It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want a mid flight with mid spin
- Have played and liked a Diamana Blueboard
- Want a very light 51 g shaft in X flex, or a 74 g shaft in S
- Like a firm mid section with a livelier tip
Not the right fit if you...
- Need R or SR flex, or a 50 or 60 series: we build 40 X and 70 S only
- Want a lower flight with less spin: the Diamana PD is rated low and low
How It Plays
Mitsubishi rates the Diamana TB mid launch and mid spin, with a medium-plus butt, firm mid section and medium tip, and a mid-high kick point.
Consistent Feel Design keeps butt size, weight and balance point close across the range, which makes fitting simpler. The Xlink Tech Resin System raises the carbon fiber content for feel and strength, MR70 adds strength, and boron fortifies the tip.
The 40 X weighs 51 g with 5.9 torque and a 0.610" butt. The 70 S weighs 74 g with 3.4 torque and a 0.634" butt.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
How does the TB compare to the newer BB model? Is it worth upgrading, or are they basically cousins?
The TB is the higher-launching, smoother of the two. It feels consistent and together from grip to tip at any swing speed, suits a wide range of tempos, and is the more forgiving fit. The BB sits a touch lower in launch and spin and has noticeably more energy through the mid section — you feel it load and release through transition in a way the TB doesn't. Players with real speed tend to prefer the BB because it responds when you stand on it. Players who want classic Diamana feel without the shaft demanding much from them tend to prefer the TB. The fitting numbers are often closer than expected; the bigger difference is feel and how each shaft responds to effort.

I am a 71 year old retiree and assume I have a slower than average swing speed.....I struggle to carry the driver to about 190 yards...What shaft do you suggest for me and my latest and greatest Titleist driver that currently has a regular stock shaft?
Hi, we'd recommend trying a senior shaft for you. The 40/R2 flex for the Diamana TB would be a good option: https://www.grips4less.com/products/assembled-mitsubishi-diamana-tb-wood-shaft-with-adapter-tip-callaway-cobra-ping-mizuno-taylormade-titleist-grip
