WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Nippon N.S. Pro Zelos 8 Iron Shaft Bundle Set is a set of lightweight steel iron shafts with a 0.355" taper tip or a 0.370" parallel tip. Choose #3-PW or #4-GW (8 shafts), or #4-PW or #5-GW (7 shafts), in R (84 g) or S (87.5 g). Nippon gives it a low kick point and evenly spread flex for an easy, smooth swing.

Before you order: pick the tip that matches your iron hosels, 0.355" taper or 0.370" parallel. See How Nippon Shaft Lengths Work. Only need one or two clubs? Buy the Zelos 8 single shaft (0.355") or the 0.370" single shaft.

What's in the Set

Set What you get Available in
#3-PW 8 shafts: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9-iron and PW R, S
#4-GW 8 shafts: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9-iron, PW and GW R, S

#5-GW 7 shafts: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9-iron, PW and GW R, S

Shafts only; club heads and grips are not included. Every shaft in a set is the same model and flex. Every flex comes with a 0.355" or 0.370" tip. The 0.355" taper tips come already sized for each iron. Whichever tip you choose, the butt end is left long so your club builder can cut each shaft to its final length. Want us to install them? See our Retrofit Service.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Are reshafting a set of irons with 0.355" taper or 0.370" parallel hosels
  • Want a light steel shaft, 84 g to 87.5 g, that still feels like steel
  • Play graphite iron shafts now, or want steel without the swing speed for a heavier shaft (the players Nippon designed it for)
  • Want a low kick point and soft, even flex that Nippon says swings like a graphite iron shaft

Not the right fit if you...

How It Plays

Low kick point, even flex. Nippon designed the Zelos 8 with a low kick point and stiffness spread evenly from tip to butt, so it flexes easily. Nippon says it is easy to handle, with a very smooth swing and gentle feel, and swings like a graphite iron shaft.

NZNS60 steel. Nippon makes the Zelos 8 from its NZNS60 material and says it gives the smooth control of high-carbon steel, for a more stable swing and solid impact. It is about 10 g heavier than the Zelos 7.

Which Zelos Should I Choose?

Nippon publishes no swing speed or flex chart for the Zelos line. It separates the models by weight, so choose the weight first and then your flex. Here is how the Zelos shafts compare on Nippon's figures.

Nippon model Weight (g) Flexes Torque (°)
Zelos 6 68.5 One flex 3.0
Zelos 7 73.5–77.5 R2, R, S 2.9–2.6
Zelos 8 (this page) 84.0–87.5 R, S 2.3–2.2

All three have a tip-side kick point on Nippon's charts. Not sure? Take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • How do I choose parallel or tappered?

    Hi Alejandro,

Choose the tip type that matches your iron heads: .370" parallel or .355" tapered. It’s determined by the hosel size, rather than your preferred flex.

Please send me the brand, model, and approximate year of your irons, and I’ll verify which option you need before you order.

    Jim

  • Are the taper tip pre cut shafts

    correct.

actually all the Nippon shafts are pre-tipped,  Some of them may require Butt cut.
