WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Tacki-Mac Bubble Replacement is a thin wrap grip made for TaylorMade bubble shafts. Its .810" core is a much larger opening than a regular grip, so it fits shafts with a .810" butt. Tacki-Mac lists it at 32 g (±2 g), latex free. It is a standard size grip, not an oversize: the wall is thinner, softer and stretchier, so once it is on the shaft it feels close to a standard grip. You will need the Ultimate Grip Installer Tool to install it.

Not sure which bubble grip you need? Measure the butt end of your shaft. A .810" butt takes the Bubble Replacement; a butt up to .865" takes the Pro Lite 865. Our bubble grip guide explains the difference.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Have TaylorMade bubble shafts, or any shaft with a .810" butt
  • Want to keep playing an older bubble-shaft club
  • Want a standard-size feel on a wide shaft butt
  • Need a latex-free grip: Tacki-Mac says this grip is latex free

Not the right fit if you...

How It Plays

Big core, thin wall. Tacki-Mac makes the grip with a .810" core, a much larger opening than the .600" or .580" of a regular grip. The wall is thin, so the finished grip ends up close to a standard size on a bubble shaft.

Stretches on. Bubble grips are softer and stretchier than regular grips. They stretch to fit as you install them with the Ultimate Grip Installer Tool.

Wrap surface. Tacki-Mac describes it as an all-black wrap with no paint fill.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a special tool to install it?

Yes. To put a bubble grip on a bubble shaft you need the Ultimate Grip Installer Tool. It opens up the grip so it slides over the wide butt without splitting. Use plenty of solvent inside the grip over the tape, or the grip can stick halfway on. Our step-by-step regripping guide covers the rest of the job.

Will it fit my bubble shaft?

It fits shafts with a .810" butt, which is the TaylorMade bubble shaft size Tacki-Mac makes it for. Measure the butt end before you order. If it is wider, up to .865", choose the Pro Lite 865.

Is it an oversize grip?

No. It is a standard size grip. The core is larger to fit the shaft, but the wall is thinner, so the outside ends up close to a standard grip.

How much does it weigh?

32 g, plus or minus 2 g, per Tacki-Mac. Tacki-Mac gives its length as 10 1/4".

Can I use it on a regular shaft?

No. The .810" core is far too large for a regular .600" or .580" shaft. Browse our standard size grips instead.
