WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Speeder NX Gold is the flatter of the two current Speeder NX profiles. A stiffened mid section brings launch down to mid and spin down to low-mid from the 50 series up while keeping the feel as the shaft loads. The 40 series is the exception, rated mid-high launch and mid spin for slower swings, and the 70 S goes low-mid launch with low spin. You pick from 11 weight and flex options, 40 R2 to 70 S, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.

Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Swing somewhere around 80 to 105 mph and want a mid launch with the spin under control
- Were fitted into an NX Violet, love the feel, but hit it higher than you'd like
- Like a smooth, loaded feel but want more stability through the middle than the Violet gives you
- Want a light shaft with a stiffer middle: 44 to 72 g, built to your specs and ready on arrival
Not the right fit if you...
- Swing under about 80 mph. Even the 40 series wants some speed to load
- Need more height. The assembled NX Violet is rated mid-high launch in every weight
- Want the lowest launch and spin you can get, with a high bend point. That's the assembled 2026 Ventus TR Black, not a Speeder
- Build your own clubs and just want the raw shaft. Grab the uncut NX Gold and save the build time
How It Plays
Mid launch, low-mid spin, and the mid section does the work. The 50 and 60 series carry a mid bend point with mid launch and low-mid spin. Up at the 70 S, the bend point moves to mid-high and the ratings drop to low-mid launch and low spin. The 40 series is the one that plays differently: low bend point, mid spin, mid-high launch, so a slower swing still gets the ball up. Torque runs from 5.8 in the 40 to 2.8 in the 70.
Torque tuned along the shaft, not one number end to end. Variable Torque Core is the build behind every Speeder NX, and it means what it sounds like: the twisting stiffness of the core is tuned differently in different sections of the shaft instead of being set once for the whole thing. You won't see it on the chart, which only lists one torque number for each weight; the tuning is in the layup. In your hands it's a Speeder that still loads through the middle without the loose, whippy feel a lighter shaft can have.
Gold against Violet. Same family, two jobs. The Violet launches mid-high in every weight and tightens torque in the tip and butt. The Gold stiffens the mid section instead, and that's what takes the height and spin off. If you were fitted into a Violet and the ball still climbs more than you'd like, the Gold in the same weight and flex is the first move we'd make before touching the loft again.
Before you pick your options
- Weight before flex. The 40 series is 44 to 47 g, the 50 is 50.5 to 55, the 60 is 60.5 to 63.5 and the 70 S is 72. Our fitting guidance: the 50 series around 80 to 90 mph, the 60 around 90 to 100 and the 70 around 100 to 110. Within each weight, R or SR suits a smoother tempo and S or X a more aggressive one.
- The 40 series plays differently. It's rated mid-high launch and mid spin with a low bend point, so it's the Gold for a slower swing that still needs height. We build it in R2, SR and S. If you want the mid launch and low-mid spin the Gold is known for, start at the 50 series.
- Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Graphite. Raw length 46" before we cut it, parallel tip section 3.0", tip diameter 0.335" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.

Launch, spin, bend point and torque are Fujikura's ratings, shown by weight series. The NX Gold and NX Violet rows come from Fujikura's current chart. The NX Blue and NX Green are earlier generations that aren't on that chart, so their rows are carried from our earlier listings. Fujikura doesn't publish a swing speed range for Speeder NX. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.
