WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The JumboMax Tour Series Blackout Standard Jumbo is a Tour Series grip that's just 1/8" over standard. You get the firm feel and the stable core without jumping into a really big grip, at 71 g. It's sized for men's Small or Medium-Cadet gloves, fits a standard .600" butt, and it's all black.

Not sure of your size? JumboMax sizes by glove, not hand length. You're in the right spot with a men's Small or Medium-Cadet glove. Right on the line with the X-Small? Check the size ladder below. Our JumboMax grip guide covers the whole lineup.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Wear a men's Small or Medium-Cadet glove
  • Want a clean, all-black look
  • Like a firm grip that stays put, even out of the rough
  • Want a firmer, more stable feel than a typical rubber grip

Not the right fit if you...

How It Plays

A small step up in size. At 0.91" through the middle and 1.16" at the butt, it's only a touch bigger than a standard grip, so it won't feel strange the first time you hold it. It just fills your fingers a little more.

A bit more weight in the handle. At 71 g it's heavier than a typical standard grip, so the head feels a little lighter. It's a mild version of the counterweight effect the bigger Tour Series sizes are known for.

Firm, with texture where it counts. A raised hex pattern covers the back and the main gripping areas, and a cross pattern on the top and sides adds tack and moves sweat away. The twist-resistant core keeps it from turning in your hands out of heavy rough.

Plan for the weight change. Our rule of thumb at the bench: 5 g of grip weight is about 1 swingweight point. Most standard rubber grips run around 50 g, so going to the 71 g Tour Series Blackout Standard Jumbo takes roughly 4 points off. A driver that read D2 will land somewhere around C8. That lighter head feel is part of the point of this grip, so most golfers leave it alone. One more thing: this grip is already 1/8" over standard, so install it on a single layer of double-sided tape. No build-up wraps.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this compare to my standard grip?

It's 1/8" bigger than standard, close to what most brands call a midsize. It's the smallest step into a truly oversize JumboMax.

Why pick this over a regular standard-size grip?

The firm Tour Series feel and the twist-resistant core. If you've been squeezing a soft, worn-out rubber grip, this one feels more solid and stays put in your hands.

Will it fit my graphite shaft?

Yes. The .600" core fits standard .600" butt shafts, steel or graphite.

Can I put these on my driver and woods too?

Yep. It works on any full-swing club, so you can run the same grip through the whole bag. Putters need a putter grip.

How do I keep it tacky?

Wipe it down with warm, soapy water, rinse it, and let it air dry. Sweat, dirt and sunscreen are what make a grip feel slick, and a quick wash brings the tack back.
