WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Ventus TR Red with VeloCore is a mid-high launch, mid-low spin driver shaft built for golfers with swing speeds between 70-105 mph who want help getting the ball in the air with the face-stabilizing benefits of VeloCore technology and Spread Tow construction. The highest-launching profile in the TR family -- active tip, stable handle, consistent feel through the swing. Arrives fully assembled with your adapter and grip installed. Plug it in and play.

VeloCore vs VeloCore+: This is the original Ventus TR Red with VeloCore technology. The current 2026 generation uses the upgraded VeloCore+ core construction with additional premium bias core material for improved face stability and ball speed. Both share the same mid-high launch, mid-low spin TR Red profile and Spread Tow construction. See the 2026 Ventus TR Red VeloCore+ if you want the latest generation.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing between 70-95 mph (R2 through S) or up to 105 mph in X flex
  • Tend to launch too low or struggle to carry the ball
  • Want a shaft that loads smoothly and doesn't fight you through impact
  • Want VeloCore face stability and Spread Tow construction at a value vs the VeloCore+ generation
  • Have tried the TR Blue or TR Black and found them too demanding or too low-launching
  • Play a 7-wood or 9-wood and want a shaft that handles higher-lofted fairway heads

Not the right fit if you...

  • Already launch too high or spin too much -- look at the TR Blue instead
  • Swing 110+ mph and need to actively reduce spin -- the TR Black is the better call
  • Want the latest VeloCore+ core construction and broader weight selection -- see the 2026 TR Red VeloCore+
  • Have a very fast, aggressive tempo -- the TR Blue handles that load better

How It Plays

The TR Red has the most active tip section of any shaft in the TR family: soft tip, stiff mid, stiff handle. That combination promotes an upward, high-energy ball flight through impact without requiring you to force it. The soft tip loads easily and kicks through at impact, while the stiff mid and handle keep the rest of the shaft stable and prevent the profile from feeling boardy or uncontrolled.

Spread Tow material in the mid and handle sections adds torsional stiffness exactly where it's needed most -- through the transition and into the downswing. That's what separates the TR Red from a generic senior or regular flex shaft. The tip is active by design; the rest of the shaft is built to stay stable while the tip does its work. The result is a controlled, repeatable high flight rather than the inconsistent ballooning you'd get from a shaft that's simply soft throughout.

VeloCore brings the multi-material bias core construction that stabilizes the clubhead through impact. On a high-launch shaft like the TR Red, VeloCore does important work -- soft-tip shafts are traditionally prone to face twist on off-center hits because the active tip can move in unpredictable ways. VeloCore counters that, giving you the launch benefits of a soft tip without the dispersion penalty. That combination -- high launch with tight dispersion -- is what defines the TR Red and makes it stand out from other high-launch options.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the Ventus TR Red designed for?

The R2 flex suits swing speeds under 80 mph. Regular (R) fits roughly 80-90 mph, Stiff suits 90-100 mph, and X flex options in the 6 and 7 series suit faster swingers up to about 105 mph who still want a mid-high launch profile. Above 105 mph, the TR Black or TR Blue is typically the better call for spin management.

Should I buy this VeloCore version or the 2026 VeloCore+ version?

Both deliver the same mid-high launch, mid-low spin TR Red profile with Spread Tow construction. The VeloCore+ adds an upgraded premium bias core material for slightly better face stability and ball speed on off-center hits, plus access to 8 and 9 series options for fairway wood builds. If you've played the TR Red VeloCore before and it fits your game, this is the same shaft. If you want the absolute latest construction or need a 7-wood or 9-wood build, step up to the VeloCore+.

What's the difference between the TR Red and the TR Blue?

The TR Red and TR Blue share the same Spread Tow and VeloCore construction but play very differently. The TR Red has a soft tip that promotes an active, high-energy release and a mid-high launch -- it's for players who need help getting the ball in the air. The TR Blue has an ultra-stiff tip that suppresses launch and spin -- it's for players who want control and lower trajectory. If you're unsure which one fits your game, the rule of thumb is: launch too low = TR Red; launch too high or spin too much = TR Blue.

Is the TR Red good for fairway woods?

Yes -- the 7 series options are well suited for 3-woods and 5-woods. The soft tip promotes higher launch that works naturally with higher-lofted fairway heads, and VeloCore keeps the face stable on mishits. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. For 7-wood or 9-wood builds, note that the 2026 VeloCore+ version offers 8 and 9 series options not available in this VeloCore generation.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM adapter tip installed (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, Titleist, Mizuno, PXG, or Wilson) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I currently use the Fujikura Ventus TR Red Graphite Shaft 5-R non-Velocore with my TM Stealth 2 driver. What is the Velocore+ version of my shaft that you would suggest. Thanks

Hi Lee, we'd recommend the Ventus with VeloCore+ Red 5/R for you: https://www.grips4less.com/products/fujikura-2024-ventus-red-wood-shaft-adapter-tip-grip

  • What is the difference between VENTUS RED and VENTUS TR RED

Main difference between the OG Ventus and TR is the new material that was added to the mid to handle section of the TR shaft. That material creates a stiffer and more stable handle section that also leads to lower launch and spin numbers compared to OG Ventus. TR also is somewhat of a tweener where they fit in between the original Ventus skus. Meaning TR red fits between red and blue, TR blue fit in between blue and black, and TR black is now the lowest launching lowest spinning Ventus option.

  • How much does each shaft weigh?

Please see weights and specifications under the Specification table (click on "Show more information" below the 'What you need to know' tab). Weights range from 59g to 89.5g, depending on the series/flex.
