Graphite Design introduces the latest in the Tour AD premium line of hybrid golf shafts, the Graphite Design Tour AD IZ – “Into the Zone” Hybrid. Designed and manufactured at the Graphite Design Japan factory headquarters, the new Tour AD IZ hybrid shaft are available in 65g R2 (Lite) and R1 (Regular) flex, 75g R and S flex, 85g R, S and X flex and 95g S and X.
The Tour AD IZ Hybrid, like all of the premium Tour AD shafts, utilizes premium, aerospace quality carbon-fiber materials in order to deliver the best feeling and performing shaft available to golfers.
The Tour AD IZ 65g and 75g hybrid shaft has a medium stiffness starting at the handle, and firm center section and a firm tip profile to promote a mid/high launch angle and mid ball spin rates.
The Tour AD IZ 85g hybrid shaft has a firm stiffness starting at the handle, and firm center section and a stiff tip profile to promote a mid-launch angle and lower ball spin rates.

The Tour AD IZ Hybrid brings the same high launch, low spin profile the IZ wood shaft is known for into a hybrid-specific build — engineered for players whose launch monitor data shows they need more height and carry through their hybrid without the excess spin that typically comes with high-launching shafts. It is the right fit for players already gaming Tour AD IZ in the driver who want a consistent feel through the hybrid, or those whose hybrid launch is too low relative to their swing speed. How does the Tour AD IZ Hybrid actually compare in feel to something like Fujikura Ventus
Great question.
The Tour AD IZ Hybrid still has that classic Graphite Design smooth feel, but it’s more controlled than “kicky.” You’ll feel it load, just without that big snap; more of a smooth, connected release. Compared to Ventus, it’s less one-piece and rigid, but still very stable through impact thanks to the firm tip. On flight, the mid to mid-high launch makes it pretty playable for a wide range of swing speeds; it helps get the ball up without ballooning. Stronger players will benefit most from the tighter dispersion, but it’s not so stout that smoother swings can’t use it.
Overall, it sits right in the middle; smooth but stable, not loose or boardy.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Graphite Design being super smooth, so I’m curious how this IZ hybrid actually feels compared to something like Ventus
The Tour AD IZ Hybrid has a smooth, responsive feel with a firm tip, so it feels a bit more “kicky” than Ventus but still stable through impact.
