WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Vista Pro Hybrid is the light, high-launching hybrid shaft in the Fujikura line, and it's flighted by weight: the 40 and 50 series are rated high launch and high spin with a low bend point, and the 60 and 70 come down to mid-high launch and spin with a low-mid bend point. It's the shaft for the golfer whose hybrid comes out low and runs, or who just needs the club to be easier to swing. This is the raw shaft: 42" uncut, 4.0" parallel tip, 0.370" tip diameter, in seven weight and flex options from a 40 R3 at 48 g to a 70 S at 75.5 g. If you build your own clubs or have a shop you trust, this is the listing you want.

Not sure which series is yours? Take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz or see the whole lineup in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a hybrid that gets up fast and lands soft, because your current one comes out low and runs through the green
  • Play a ladies, senior or regular flex, or a stiff flex at a lighter weight than the Ventus HB offers
  • Want a light hybrid shaft so the club swings easier and matches lighter wood and iron shafts
  • Build your own clubs or have a fitter who'll tip, cut and install it for you

Not the right fit if you...

  • Already hit your hybrid too high or with too much spin. The Ventus HB with VeloCore+ in Blue or Black flattens the flight and runs 73.5 to 106 g
  • Need an X flex or a shaft over 76 g. The Ventus HB goes to X and 106 g
  • Want it screwed into your adjustable hybrid on arrival. Order the assembled Vista Pro Hybrid and pick your adapter, length and grip

How It Plays

Flighted by weight. The light series launch high with a lot of spin, which is what carries a hybrid onto a green from 190 yards instead of landing short and running. The 60 and 70 settle into mid-high launch and spin with the bend point a little higher. That's on purpose: the lighter the shaft, the more help you get, and the heavier you go, the more it behaves like a regular hybrid shaft.

Higher torque, smoother feel. Torque runs from 4.9 on the 40 R3 to 3.8 on the 70 S, which is higher than a Ventus HB on every build. You feel the head load and release, and that's the point for a smoother tempo. It uses a multi-material bias core borrowed from the Ventus work, so it isn't whippy, but it's not trying to be a tour shaft either.

Where it sits in our hybrid shelf. Think of it as the launch end of the Fujikura hybrid range. The Vista Pro Hybrid is the lightest and highest-flying, the original Ventus Blue HB is mid, and the Ventus HB VeloCore+ runs from the Red up to the low, flat Black.

Picking a weight and flex, and what to tip

  • Weight before flex. Each series step adds about 9 g. Match the hybrid shaft to the rest of the bag: if you play 50 g in the driver and 60 g in the fairway, the 60 HB is the natural spot, and the 40 and 50 are for golfers already in 40 g wood shafts or graphite irons under 60 g.
  • The 40 and 50 are the big launchers. If getting the ball in the air is the whole problem, stay in the 40 or 50 and don't be talked into a heavier shaft for stability. The 60 and 70 are for the golfer who wants a lighter hybrid but a flight closer to what a standard shaft gives.
  • Tip trimming. Fujikura's hybrid chart goes by loft: 0" for 15 to 20 degrees, 0.5" for 21 to 23, 1.0" for 24 to 27 and 1.5" for a 28 degree head, and every inch you tip plays about one flex stiffer. The chart is a suggestion, not a rule. Tip first, then butt trim to length. The parallel tip here is 4.0", so there's room for the full chart with plenty left.
  • Adapter needed for adjustable hosels. The 0.370" tip fits every current hybrid adapter, and you can pick one up from our shaft adapters. Non-adjustable heads with a 0.370" bore, like an older Ping hybrid, take it straight in with epoxy.

Graphite. Raw length 42", parallel tip section 4.0", tip diameter 0.370" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number. R3 is the lightest flex we list as ladies, and R2 is the senior flex.

How the Vista Pro Hybrid Weights Compare

You're here: all four weights are options on this one listing, so every row is highlighted and the table is there to help you pick between them.

Series Launch Spin Bend Point Weights Flexes
Vista Pro 40 HB High High Low 48 to 48.5 g R3, R2
Vista Pro 50 HB High High Low 57 to 58 g R2, R
Vista Pro 60 HB Mid-high Mid-high Low-mid 66 to 68 g R, S
Vista Pro 70 HB Mid-high Mid-high Low-mid 75.5 g S

Launch, spin and bend point are Fujikura's ratings. Weights and flexes are the options we stock. Want the same flighted idea in the rest of the bag? The Vista Pro driver and fairway shaft and the Vista Pro iron shaft are built the same way. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Want It Built and Ready to Play?

Same shaft, same seven options, but we do the work. Order the assembled Vista Pro Hybrid and pick:

  • Your hybrid adapter tip, installed and set to your hosel setting: Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson
  • Your length, 37" to 42" adapter tip to grip, or left uncut
  • Your grip, logo up or down, with extra wraps of tape if you want them

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put this in an iron head with a 0.370" bore?

Yes, and it's a question we get. The 4.0" parallel tip gives you room. The hybrid-by-loft chart above doesn't apply to an iron set, though, so contact us before you cut and we'll send you the iron trim numbers for your heads. Tip first, then butt trim to length. If you're doing a whole set, the Vista Pro iron shaft is built for that job.

Will it work with my Titleist, TaylorMade or Cobra hybrid?

With the right adapter, yes. Any adjustable hybrid takes this shaft once the matching sleeve is on the tip, and our shaft adapters cover the current brands. Tell us the head model and loft if you're not sure which sleeve, because some brands changed adapters between generations. If you'd rather not epoxy it yourself, the assembled listing includes the adapter and the install.

Where's the kick point?

Low on the 40 and 50 series, low-mid on the 60 and 70, on Fujikura's chart. A lower bend point means a higher flight, so the light series are the ones that launch the most.

What do R3 and R2 mean?

They're Fujikura's two softest flexes. R3 is the softest and we list it as the ladies flex. R2 is the senior flex, a step softer than regular. The 40 comes in R3 and R2, the 50 in R2 and R, the 60 in R and S, and the 70 in S only.

Does this come with a grip or adapter?

No. This listing is the bare 42" shaft, nothing installed, nothing cut. If you want it ready to screw into your head, order the assembled Vista Pro Hybrid instead and choose your adapter, length and grip at checkout.
