WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Ventus TR Blue is the original TR version of the Blue profile: mid launch, low spin, with VeloCore and a Spread Tow carbon fabric in the mid and handle that cuts twist through the transition. If you load the regular Ventus Blue hard and feel the handle give at the top, this is the version with the extra stiffness up there. This is the raw shaft: 46" uncut, 3.0" parallel tip, 0.335" tip diameter, in 13 weight and flex options from a 5 R2 at 56 g to a 9 X at 97 g. Build your own clubs or have a shop you trust, and this is the listing you want.

Not sure TR Blue is your profile? Take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz or compare every profile in our Fujikura Ventus Shaft Guide.

This is the original Ventus TR Blue, with VeloCore and Spread Tow. The current version is the 2026 Ventus TR Blue VeloCore+. It keeps the Spread Tow fabric and swaps in the VeloCore+ core, a multi-material bias core with one more core material than the original, and it carries the same mid launch, low spin rating on Fujikura's chart. If you already play this generation and like it, there's no reason to move. If you're buying your first TR Blue, look at both.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Launch it mid already and want spin down without dropping to the lower flight of the Black
  • Have a quick transition and want a handle that stays put when you change direction at the top
  • Play a TR Blue that came stock in your driver and want the full aftermarket version with VeloCore
  • Build your own clubs or have a fitter who'll cut, tip and install it for you

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need help getting the ball up. The TR Red launches mid-high with a softer tip
  • Launch it high and spin it even in a stiff, low-spin shaft. The TR Black has a high bend point and the lowest flight in the TR line
  • Want it cut to length with the adapter and grip already on, ready to screw into your driver. Order the assembled TR Blue instead

How It Plays

The handle is the difference. Spread Tow is an ultra-light carbon fabric laid into the mid and handle sections, and its job is to keep those sections from twisting and going out of round while you load the shaft. What you feel is a handle that stays on plane through transition instead of lagging behind a fast move. The tip is still a stiff Ventus tip, so the face holds through impact the same way the Blue always has.

Mid launch, low spin, the middle of the TR line. The TR Red launches higher with a little more spin, and the TR Black flies lower off a high bend point. Blue sits between them with a mid bend point, which is why it covers more tempos and head lofts than either sibling. Every option on the chart carries the same mid launch, low spin rating, from the 5 R2 to the 9 X.

VeloCore underneath it all. The multi-material bias core runs the length of the shaft and keeps the tip from twisting on off-center hits. That's where the tighter dispersion comes from. The 2026 version adds one more material to this core; the original here is the core the TR line was built on.

Picking a weight and flex, and what to tip

  • Weight before flex. Each series step is about 10 g: the 5 series runs 56 to 58 g, the 6 is 67.5 to 69.5, the 7 is 77.5 to 80.5 and the 8 is 86.5 to 90. If your driver shaft today is in the high 60s, start with the TR Blue 6. When you want more stability, go up a series before you go up a flex.
  • TX stiffens the handle, not the tip. On the chart the 6 TX has the same tip flex number as the 6 X (90) and a stiffer butt (71 against 78). Same story in the 7 and 8 series. Pick TX when you load the handle hard and the X still feels soft at the top, not because you want a stiffer tip.
  • The 8 and 9 series are fairway weights. They belong in 3 woods, 5 woods and mini drivers. Very few golfers want 86 g or more in a full-size driver.
  • Tip trimming. Fujikura's chart is 0" for a driver or 3 wood, 0.5" for a 5 wood, 1.0" for a 7 wood and 1.5" for a 9 wood, and every inch you tip is roughly one flex stiffer. Want to sit between S and X? Tip 0.5" and butt trim to length.

Graphite. Raw length 46", parallel tip section 3.0", tip diameter 0.335" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.

How the Original Ventus TR Line Compares

Profile Launch Spin Bend Point Weights
TR Red Mid-high Mid-low Mid (7 X and 8 X: mid-high) 59 to 89.5 g
TR Blue (You're here) Mid Low Mid 56 to 97 g
TR Black Low Low High 59 to 89 g

Launch, spin and bend point are Fujikura's ratings. Line the three up at the same series and flex and the TR Red carries the highest tip flex number, so its tip is the softest of the three; the TR Black carries the lowest. Want the Blue profile without the Spread Tow layer? That's the original Ventus Blue. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Want It Built and Ready to Play?

Same shaft, same 13 options, but we do the work. Order the assembled Ventus TR Blue and pick:

  • Your club: driver, mini driver or fairway wood
  • Your adapter tip, installed and set to your hosel setting: Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson
  • Your length: the standard length for your head, a custom length, or left uncut
  • Your grip, logo up or down, with extra wraps of tape if you want them

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same thing as the Ventus Blue?

No, and it's an easy mix-up. The Ventus Blue is the regular profile with VeloCore. The TR Blue adds the Spread Tow fabric in the mid and handle, which makes it stiffer through transition and takes a touch of launch and spin off against the regular Blue. If the plain Blue is what you're after, that listing is the one to order.

Is this the TR Blue that came stock in my driver?

Probably not. Stock Ventus shafts in OEM drivers are usually made-for versions without VeloCore, and they play softer and spin more than this one. This is the full aftermarket TR Blue with VeloCore and Spread Tow. If the shaft in your driver is marked Ventus TR Blue but there's no VeloCore marking anywhere on it, it's a different shaft.

Do I need an adapter to use this shaft?

Only if your driver or fairway has an adjustable hosel, which most do. The 0.335" tip fits every current adapter, and you can pick one up from our shaft adapters. If you'd rather not epoxy it yourself, the assembled listing includes the adapter and the install.

Does it work in a fairway wood?

Yes. Most golfers go one series heavier in the fairway than in the driver, so a TR Blue 6 driver player usually ends up with a 7 or 8 in the 3 wood. Follow Fujikura's tip trim chart above for 5 woods and up.

Does this come with a grip or adapter?

No. This listing is the bare 46" shaft, nothing installed, nothing cut. If you want it ready to screw into your head, order the assembled TR Blue instead and choose your adapter, length and grip at checkout.
