FULL DESCRIPTION
Brand new for 2025, Graphite Design introduces the latest in the Tour AD premium line of golf shafts, the Graphite Design Tour AD GC – Game Changer. Designed and manufactured at the Graphite Design Japan factory headquarters, the new Tour AD GC wood shafts are pearl white with bronze and orange accents and finished with a gloss clear coat.
The Tour AD GC, like the other high performance Tour AD wood shafts, utilizes premium, aerospace quality carbon-fiber materials and are available in 40g R2, R1 and S flex, 50g R2, R1, S and X flex, 60g SR, S, X and TX flex, 70g S, X and TX flex and 80g X flex.
The Tour AD GC shaft profile is Stiff in the butt section, Firm in the center section and has a Firm+ tip to promote Mid launch angles and Low/Mid to Mid ball spin rates.
The Tour AD GC shaft integrates a new material technology called AD SHIELD which consists of strategically placed special plies of carbon-fiber combined with the modern TORAYCA® M40X material technology in the handle section of the shaft that results in a stiff, yet smooth feeling kick point and optimized shaft profile.
The Tour AD GC shaft also utilizes the ultra-high modulus TORAYCA® T1100G carbon-fiber material in the tip section of the shaft for unrivaled shaft stability and precise ball control without the loss of the exceptional feel that Graphite Design shafts are so well known for.
Are you ready to make a change to how your Driver or Fairway metal woods perform? Experience the Tour AD GC and see if the new innovations that the Tour AD GC has might just be the biggest Game Changer to your golf game.
HOW IT COMPARES
The Tour AD GC is Graphite Design's 2025 driver shaft — sitting at mid launch and mid-to-low spin with AD Shield technology reducing torsion through the handle and a wider-diameter tip section for improved rigidity. It fills the gap between the higher-launching DI and the lower-launching VF, making it the right call for moderate-to-fast swing speeds at 95–110 mph who want a penetrating mid-trajectory with tight dispersion and a smoother, more feel-oriented response than the FI delivers. Players who want more height should look at the DI or CQ, while those needing the lowest launch and spin in the lineup should move toward the VF instead.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
How is the feel compared to the Tour AD DI?
The Tour AD DI is the classic, famous for its smooth loading feel through the swing followed by a firm, stable impact. It has a softer mid-section that lets you really feel the shaft load, paired with a firm tip that produces a mid-high to high launch with low/low-mid spin. The feel is often described as "buttery" or "effortless" you sense the kick, and it rewards a smooth tempo.
The Tour AD GC ("Game Changer") is built a bit stiffer overall — stiff butt, firm mid, firm+ tip, producing a mid launch with low-mid spin. What's interesting is that despite the stiffer profile on paper, reviewers consistently describe it as surprisingly soft and lively through impact thanks to the AD SHIELD technology in the handle, which gives you that smooth Graphite Design feel but with a tighter, more stable kick than DI. So compared to DI, the GC feels less whippy in the mid-section and more locked-in through the butt/handle, with a lower ball flight and slightly tighter dispersion — but you still get that signature GD smoothness, just a touch firmer and more controlled. Players who love DI but want a flatter ball flight or feel like DI is a little too active for their tempo often gravitate toward GC.
-
What’s the kick point?
The Tour AD GC has an effectively mid-to-high kick point. The bend profile is stiff in the butt, firm in the mid, and firm+ in the tip — so the shaft "kicks" up in the handle area rather than down near the tip. Graphite Design's AD SHIELD technology in the handle is specifically designed to create a stiff-but-smooth feeling kick point there, which is why the GC produces a mid launch with low-mid spin (higher kick point = lower launch, lower kick point = higher launch). In practice, it feels like the shaft loads up through the handle/upper mid rather than whipping through the tip, giving you a controlled, penetrating ball flight.

How does the Tour AD HD actually feel in transition and through impact?
The HD has a pretty distinct feel compared to most Tour AD models, worth knowing before you buy. It's designed with a "one piece feel" from butt to tip, firm throughout, with not a lot of give in the hands. If you're coming from something like the AD DI, it'll feel noticeably stiffer. The most activity is in the mid/tip area, and it responds well to aggressive swings — but it's stable and planted through the ball rather than lively. It's not a shaft you feel working; it's a shaft that just holds its line and gets out of the way.
