WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Project X HZRDUS Black Gen 5 is a low-launch, low-spin driver shaft for players with a fast tempo. The Gen 5 adds True Temper's 4D Optimized Carbon weave to the midsection, the part of the shaft under the most stress, angled to resist twisting. We sell it in the 60, 70 and 80 series, 5.5 through TX flex. It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

How It Plays
True Temper rates the Gen 5 Black low spin, low trajectory and fast tempo, the same flight window HZRDUS Black has been known for. It is built for players who transition hard and need a shaft that won't kick the ball up or add spin when they swing aggressively.
The change in Gen 5 is the 4D Optimized Carbon weave. True Temper places it in the midsection and angles it for torsional resistance, so the shaft twists less through the downswing and transfers more of your energy to the ball.
Torque drops as the weight and flex go up, from 3.5 in the 60 and 70 series 5.5 down to 2.5 in the 80 TX. Faster, stronger swings usually move up in weight as well as flex.

How do I choose flex and weight?
Match your flex to your swing speed, and your weight to your preferred feel (lighter = speed, heavier = control).

How is the Gen 5 different from the Gen 4?
The HZRDUS Black Gen 5 builds on the Gen 4 with updated materials and improved stability, but keeps a very similar low launch, low spin profile.
The biggest difference is that Gen 5 uses new 4D optimized carbon in the midsection, which helps improve energy transfer and torsional stability, giving it a slightly smoother and more responsive feel compared to Gen 4.
