How It Plays

The TR Blue sits between the TR Red and TR Black in launch, spin and tip stiffness. Fujikura rates its profile ultra-stiff tip, stiff mid and stiff handle. The ultra-stiff tip keeps the head stable at impact and resists the twisting that causes dispersion on faster swings, while the stiff (not ultra-stiff) handle keeps more feel than the TR Black.

Spread Tow carbon fabric in the mid and handle sections raises torsional stiffness through the transition and downswing, keeping the profile consistent under different tempos. VeloCore adds Fujikura's multi-material bias core, which stabilizes the clubhead through impact and tightens dispersion on off-center hits.

Fujikura rates every TR Blue flex mid launch and low spin. The 5 series is the lightest at 56 to 58 g, and the 8 and 9 series (86.5 to 97 g) suit fairway woods and players who want a heavier driver shaft.

What swing speed is the Ventus TR Blue designed for?

The 5 series (R2 through S) works well from about 85-100 mph. The 6 series is the sweet spot for most players at 90-108 mph, with R through TX options. The 7 series suits 100-110 mph players who want more stability, and the 8 and 9 series are mainly for fairway woods and heavier builds. If you're between the Blue and the Black, the Blue is typically the right call for anyone under 110 mph: it still delivers low spin without the full stiffness of the Black.

Should I buy this VeloCore version or the 2026 VeloCore+ version?

Why is the TR Blue one of the most played shafts on Tour?

Tour players need a shaft that performs the same across different conditions, courses and temperatures. The TR Blue hits the right mix: low enough spin to keep the ball from ballooning in the wind, enough launch to carry hazards, and VeloCore stability to keep dispersion tight on days when ball-striking isn't perfect. It isn't the most extreme profile in either direction, which is why it fits such a wide range of tour-level swings.

How does the TR Blue compare to the TR Black?

Both are low-spin profiles with Spread Tow and VeloCore, but the Black launches lower. Fujikura gives both an ultra-stiff tip and a stiff mid; the TR Black adds an ultra-stiff handle and a high bend point, rated low launch. If you already struggle to get height, stay with the Blue. If you launch too high even in a stiff shaft, the Black may be worth considering, but most players under 110 mph are better served by the Blue.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

  • What is flex of ventus tr 5A shaft 788iiu

    Hi Jan,

    If your shaft is marked Ventus TR Blue 5-A, the “A” designation means Senior / Amateur flex, which is softer than Regular.

    However, Fujikura’s current aftermarket Ventus TR Blue lineup is normally labeled R2, R, S, X, etc., rather than “A.” On our current listing, the closest equivalent in the 5 Series is R2 (Senior flex).

    So if your shaft is truly marked 5-A, I would treat it as a Senior-flex 50g-class shaft.

  • If I want my callaway Quantum to play at 45 inches what would my ADAPTER TIP TO GRIP LENGTH be?

    Here are the simplified specifications for the Callaway Quantum Driver:

    • Standard Playing Length: 45.75"

    • Workshop Head Addition: 1.125" (1 1/8")

    • Finished Shaft Length (Adapter Tip to Grip Cap): 44.625" (44 5/8")

    • Adapter Required: Callaway OptiFit 2 Driver Adapter (.335" Tip)

    or you can specify 44.75" which is very close and easy to measure ..

    No , Taylormade RBZ driver used different adapter 

    but TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 Driver (RH) use the same adapters as the most other drivers such as  TaylorMade M3/M4/M5/M6 Driver (RH)
