Fujikura rates the TR Black ultra-stiff tip, stiff mid and ultra-stiff handle, with a high bend point, low launch and low spin in every flex. The ultra-stiff tip keeps the head from kicking up at impact, and the ultra-stiff handle resists loading too early, so there is no soft section to add height or spin.

Spread Tow carbon fabric in the mid and handle sections raises torsional stiffness through the transition and downswing, and VeloCore, Fujikura's multi-material bias core, stabilizes the clubhead through impact to tighten dispersion on off-center hits. Players often describe the feel as "locked in": the clubhead goes where you send it.

This is a shaft that rewards players who drive through the ball with speed and intent, and punishes players who try to help the ball into the air. The 8 X (89 g) is the heaviest option and suits a fairway wood or a heavier driver build.
