WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX is a low-launch, low-spin driver shaft for players with a fast, aggressive tempo. True Temper pairs Hexcel HexTow HM54 high-modulus carbon fiber with HexTow IM2C carbon fiber and gives the shaft an ultra-stiff midsection and a firm tip section, so it stays stable when you load it hard. We sell it in the 60, 70 and 80 series in 6.0 and 6.5 flex. It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

How It Plays
True Temper rates the Smoke Black RDX low launch, low spin, fast tempo. The profile comes from an ultra-stiff midsection with a firm tip section: the mid resists bending when you transition hard, and the firm tip keeps the head from kicking up through impact. The result is a flatter, more boring flight with less spin.
The material is what the RDX name is about. True Temper says it was the first shaft to use Hexcel's HexTow HM54 high-modulus carbon fiber, paired here with high-strength HexTow IM2C fiber. High-modulus fiber adds stiffness without adding weight, and the IM2C adds strength, which gives the stable, solid feel HZRDUS players look for.
Because the profile is built for fast tempos, it rewards players who swing aggressively. If your transition is smooth, the Smoke Black RDX can feel boardy and launch too low; a softer mid-launch profile will usually serve you better.

What is the difference between the 60 and 80 series
Hi Jon,
The primary difference between the 60 and 80 series is the weight.
• 60 Series = approximately 60 grams
• 80 Series = approximately 80 gramsThe 60 series is the more common choice for drivers because it helps generate a little more clubhead speed and distance.
The 80 series is significantly heavier and is typically used by players who:
• have a very aggressive swing
• prefer a heavier feel
• want additional control
• or are building a fairway wood rather than a driverFor most golfers, the 60 series is usually the better starting point for a driver. If you can tell me your swing speed and current shaft setup, I'd be happy to make a recommendation.

How does the Black RDX compare to the Smoke Blue?
The Hzrdus Blue is mid-launch, mid-spin, designed for a wider range of players, more forgiving. The Black RDX is specifically for faster swing speed players who need to control a spin problem. Swing speed is the main dividing line: if you're regularly above 100mph, the Black RDX. If you're 85–100mph, the Blue usually fits better. Both are solid shafts — just different profiles

What's the spin and launch like?
Low across the board, every weight and flex option. Torque runs 2.7–4.0 depending on series. The tip is firm which keeps spin down on contact. If you're currently playing a mid-spin shaft and want to try something more penetrating, the Black RDX or the newer Hzrdus Gen 4 and Gen 5 is a logical step. Most players who switch see tighter dispersion and more roll out.

Who is the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX best suited for — is it only for players with a fast swing speed?
Yes, that's exactly who it's built for. Low spin, low launch, very stable tip section. If you've got a fast swing and you're not happing with the spin (maybe too much), especially with the newer low center of gravity driver heads, the Hzrdus Black RDX tends to sort that out. The Tour X-Stiff is nice for players that have super quick tempo. It doesn't forgive a bad swing, but for the aggressive player it's very dialed in.

Is there a difference in an adapter with driver markings compared to 3 wood markings? I'm buying for a Ping G400 3 wood.
No, the adapters are the same. So you can adjust up/down for loft and lie
