WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The KBS Max HL is a lightweight graphite driver and fairway shaft for slower swing speeds. KBS built it on the same stiffness (EI) curve as its MAX Graphite iron shaft and fits it by swing speed rather than traditional flex, to give slower swingers a higher launch and spin with accuracy. We sell it in 40, 42 and 45 g, in red, black or white gloss. It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

How It Plays
KBS designed the Max HL to help players with lower swing speeds hit the ball higher, with more spin, while keeping it accurate. It shares the stiffness curve (EI profile) of the KBS MAX Graphite iron shaft, so a set built with both has a consistent feel from driver to irons.
Instead of choosing a flex, you choose a weight by swing speed. KBS fits the 45 g (S) at 73-80 mph, the 42 g (R) at 65-72 mph and the 40 g (R2) at 65 mph and below. The lighter the shaft, the easier it is to swing faster.
All three share a 0.335" tip, 0.600" butt, 4" parallel tip and 45" raw length.

What should be the torque spec for the TS3 head on that KBS Max HL shaft?
40 in-lbs. It's not dependent on the shaft (KBS Max HL vs. Titleist stock). The torque spec is determined by the Titleist SureFit adapter / head screw, not the shaft.

What swing speed range does this suit?
Primarily ~60–85mph. Available in Senior (A-Flex), Regular and Stiff. If you're swinging above 90mph you'll likely find the Max HL produces too much spin and the ball balloons. If that's the case the KBS TD Graphite would be the better call at that speed. Text us at (408) 475-7570 if you're unsure which flex to go with.

What's the ball flight like?
High with full launch. KBS Max HL shaft designed their energy transfer tech in an ultra-light shaft profile, so you get a high-carry flight without having to swing harder to achieve it. The lighter weight means faster clubhead speed for most players, which compounds the distance gain. Just know sometimes going to light can lead to feeling unweidly. But in general the Max HL produces tighter dispersion than you'd expect from a high-launch shaft too. Works especially as a great option for senior flex, regular flex players.

Who is the KBS Max HL built for?
KBS Max HL graphite shaft is great for golfers who need more carry and want the ball to stay up longer. It's ultra-light, high-launch, high-spin, designed to help players with slower swing speeds get the ball in the air and keep it there longer. If you're losing distance because your trajectory is too flat or too low, this shaft addresses that directly. Strong option for seniors and anyone swinging under 85mph.
