Project X Catalyst Graphite Iron Shaft - 0.370" Parallel Tip I cant get the website to open the trimming directions
Here is the URL with the trimming instructions:

Shaft flex used to be designated as "lite, senior, regular stiff, etc. How does the new designation of 4.0 , 5.0 , 5.5 compare to the old system.
Here's the mapping of "Project X flexes" to traditional flex names:
4.0 = Lite flex (like senior or ladies)5.0 = R flex5.5 = R+ flex6.0 = S flex6.5 = X flex

I'm a bit confused by the trim guide for the project X Catalyst shafts. On the bottom of the page it shows trim lengths [I assume] are for the tip end for proper flex points. Once that's done and a head installed, the butt end can be also trimmed to standard lengths for each iron. Is this correct? Also.... below mapping notes the 65 5.5 being a Reg+ flex when most sites note that being Reg standard. What's correct?
You are correct. The Catalyst 0.370" tip shaft require tip trimming based on the manufacturer instructions. You can the install the iron head. Then you may want to butt trim to acheive final desired playing length (taking into account any added length from an installed grip).
The 5.5 flex for Project X iron shafts are considered Reg+. Project X wood shafts have a different flex mapping. -
Just won wedge at charity event, has this shaft, Catalyst 80 6.0 on it, where or how do you tell if it’s regular, stiff or xtra stiff?
6.0 means its a Stiff flex
-
Can these be use in hybrid or fairway clubs?
They can be used in any clubhead that requires a 0.370" tip shaft. Most hybrid clubheads take 0.370" tip, and most fairway wood heads take 0.335" tip. But please refer to the manufacturer sites for exact hosel/tip size information. Or you can send us a message here (help@grips4less.com), and we can also help determine this as well.

FULL DESCRIPTION
Catalyst is the next step in graphite iron design. Featuring our new Iso-6 material technology, Catalyst is engineered to replicate steel alloy properties over 100% better than traditional graphite laminates. This allows for an extremely stable shaft that maximizes constancy and distance control while providing the benefits of a graphite body design. Catalyst also features a reinforced tip section which, unlike traditional graphite, delivers torsional resistance comparable to that of steel—improving stability during turf interaction for better impact on less than perfect shots.
ISO-6 is a revolutionary technology that bridges the gap between what a steel shaft is and what a graphite shaft can be. Traditional graphite laminates are only 35% as symmetrical as steel. Through advanced material modeling and analysis, Project X engineers constructed a new laminate design to eliminate weak spots found in graphite iron shafts due to the lack of symmetry. With ISO-6 being 75% as symmetrical as steel (over 100% better than traditional graphite laminates), graphite iron shafts made with ISO-6 provide superior accuracy in comparison to the competitors’ shafts.
