Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • If my 7 Iron swing speed is 72 mph is the cypher 2.0 50 gram senior flex good for me?

    Hi Mike,
    Thank you for your question.
With a 7-iron swing speed of around 72 mph, the Cypher 2.0 50g Senior (A) flex would generally be considered on the softer side. It can work well if you prefer a very light, easy-loading shaft and are looking for maximum comfort and help launching the ball.
However, many players with a 7-iron speed around 70–75 mph often fit best into either:
    • Cypher 2.0 50g Regular flex, or
    • Cypher 2.0 60g Senior flex
These options usually provide a little more stability while still keeping the shaft light and easy to swing.
If your goal is maximum ease on the joints and a very smooth feel, the 50g Senior could still be a good choice. If you prefer a bit more control, I would lean toward the Regular flex version.
If you’d like, feel free to share:

    • Your current shaft model
    • Whether you tend to hit the ball high or low

…and I can help narrow down the best option for you.
    Best regards,
    Jim

  • how does the cypher 2.0 compare to the 5.0 shaft?

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for reaching out to us! That is a very common question, as Project X uses a unique numbering system for both their shaft generations and their flex ratings.

To clarify the comparison, we have to look at two different things:

    1. What is "Cypher 2.0"?

Cypher 2.0 is the version or generation of the shaft. It is the successor to the original Cypher (1.0). The 2.0 version features a refined design with a strategic "bend profile" that is optimized for higher launch and more stability compared to the first generation.

    2. What is "5.0"?

5.0 is the Flex (Stiffness) rating. In the Project X ecosystem:

    • 4.0 = Ladies Flex

    • 5.0 = Senior/Lite Flex

    • 5.5 = Regular Flex

    • 6.0 = Stiff Flex

    • 6.5 = Extra Stiff

    The Comparison

You are actually looking at the same shaft family, just two different descriptors. You would likely be looking for a Project X Cypher 2.0 in a 5.0 Flex.

    • If you currently play the original Cypher 5.0 and move to the Cypher 2.0 5.0, you will find the 2.0 feels slightly more stable and "crisp" through impact, but the overall weight and stiffness (5.0) will be very similar.

    • The 2.0 series is specifically designed to help players with a smoother tempo get the ball in the air more easily while maintaining control of the clubhead.

Summary: The "2.0" is the new and improved model, and the "5.0" is the specific flex you choose based on your swing speed.

Are you currently playing the 5.0 flex in another shaft, or are you looking to move into a lighter, higher-launching profile? We'd be happy to help you confirm if the 5.0 is the right fit for your game!

    Best regards,

    Grips4Less

  • Do these shafts fit Callaway X Forged Max

Based on our information , The Callaway X Forged Max irons have a .370" tip size.

    so the answer is Yes

  • Will these fit PXG 311 xp and what is the shaft lenght at delevery?

    Hello Richard,

Thanks for your questions about the Project X Cypher 2.0 shafts.

    Shaft Compatibility

No, these shafts will not fit your PXG 311 XP irons. The Project X Cypher 2.0 is a .370" parallel tip shaft. Your PXG 311 XP irons are built to accept a .355" taper tip shaft, which is a different diameter and shape.

    Shaft Length

The raw, uncut length of these parallel tip shafts is 41 inches at the time of delivery. All parallel tip shafts must be trimmed by a professional club builder to the correct length and flex for each specific iron in your set.

Since the Project X Cypher 2.0 will not fit your PXG irons, we would be happy to help you find a different graphite shaft with a .355" taper tip that is compatible. Just let us know what weight and flex you are looking for!

  • I have Cypher Project X Fifty 5.0 shafts on Callaway Irons. Really like them. Do you sell them? Will these work on Taylor Made woods and Cleveland Hybreds?

  • Will these fit TaylorMade Qi irons?

    Hi Doug,

Thanks for your question about the Project X Cypher 2.0 Graphite Iron Shaft!

Yes, these shafts will fit your TaylorMade Qi irons.

The TaylorMade Qi irons are designed to accept 0.370" parallel tip shafts, which perfectly matches the tip size of the Project X Cypher 2.0 Graphite Iron Shaft.

So, you should have no issues with compatibility. Let us know if you have any other questions about them!

  • What flex is the 5.0 and 5.5?

Here's how the 5.0 and 5.5 flexes typically translate for the Project X Cypher 2.0 iron shafts:

    • 5.0 Flex: This is generally considered to be a Senior (A) flex. It's designed for golfers with moderate swing speeds who are looking for easier loading and maximum feel to achieve higher launch.
    • 5.5 Flex: This is generally considered to be a Regular (R) flex. It's suitable for golfers with average swing speeds seeking a good balance of feel, control, and consistent launch.

  • Will these fit Wilson D9 irons

Yes, the Wilson irons will fit since they take 0.370" tip shafts.

  • Will these fit Taylormade P7 MB

No, The TaylorMade P7 irons take 0.355" tip shafts. Here are some options.
