FULL DESCRIPTION
The Mitsubishi VANQUISH VV Green is an ultra-premium lightweight driver shaft built on the VANQUISH platform — engineered to help golfers generate more clubhead speed without sacrificing consistency — with a unique technology package that differentiates it from the standard VANQUISH VV. It features Amorphous Wire Technology in the handle section, which increases feedback and activity in the butt of the shaft for greater clubhead acceleration through impact. Additional technologies include Super Low Resin Content Prepreg for enhanced carbon density and feel, proprietary 46 and 40-ton carbon prepregs for increased strength and lower torque, and a reinforced tip section with angled outer layers for improved tip stability. The mid kick point and all-speed flex range — from Ladies through X-Stiff — make it one of the most versatile premium shafts in the Mitsubishi lineup.
1. Amorphous Wire Technology in the butt section increases handle activity for greater clubhead acceleration.
2. Super Low Resin Content Prepreg enhances carbon density for exceptional feel by reducing unnecessary resin.
3. Proprietary 46 and 40 Ton Carbon Prepregs, applied along the full length of the shaft, deliver increased strength and
lower torque.
4. Reinforced Tip Section with uniquely angled outer layers improves tip stability for enhanced control.
5. Consistent Feel Design minimizes variation across different weights and flexes, making fitting easier and more intuitive.
6. Precision Crafted Design ensures industry-leading tolerances in weight and frequency for unmatched quality and
consistency.
Compared to the standard VANQUISH VV, the VV Green delivers more feedback and activity through the handle via Amorphous Wire Technology — giving players a more connected, responsive feel during the swing without changing the core lightweight speed platform. Compared to the original VANQUISH (higher launch, higher spin, softer throughout), the VV Green's reinforced tip section produces a more controlled, stable ball flight while still sitting in the high-launch, speed-oriented zone of the Mitsubishi lineup. Players who want maximum carry and spin without the active handle feedback of the VV Green should look at the standard VANQUISH VV or the VANQUISH instead.

Considering changing my Vanquish R2 Senior shaft to the new Vanquish VV 4 or 5 to obtain a lower launch, less spin and a more piercing flight against the wind, Which shaft do you recommend at 77 with a 78 MPH swing speed in my GTS2 Titleist lHead.
Hi Ron,
At your 78 MPH driver swing speed, I would recommend the Vanquish VV Green 4 in R2 flex.
The VV Green has a more controlled profile than the original Vanquish and should help bring the flight down somewhat with less spin and a more penetrating trajectory, while still keeping the shaft light enough to help you maintain clubhead speed.
The VV Green 5 R2 is also an option, but it is about 6 grams heavier and has a lower-torque feel. I would favor that only if you prefer a noticeably heavier, more stable feeling shaft. At 78 MPH, my first choice for your Titleist GTS2 would be the VV Green 4 R2.
One thing I would not want to promise is a specific amount of launch or spin reduction, since your driver loft, attack angle and impact location also have a major effect on both.

Currently using the original Vanquish R2 4 Senior shaft in my Titleist GTS2 10 degree driver. I am at the C2 setting on my sure-fit hosel to lower my launch and obtain a more boring penetrating flight with my desired baby draw. Seems to be better. Would the new VV Green R2 4 or 5 model be a better choice. The torque comparisons are 6.1 to 4.5. Is the tip stiffer or more stable to give me a lower launch than the original Vanquish shaft? The other option I am considering is the Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Blue 55 R2 Senior shaft. Need your help. Thank you
Hi Ron,
Thank you for the additional information. Based on what you are trying to accomplish, I would lean toward the Vanquish VV Green 4 R2 first.
One important point about the torque numbers: torque by itself does not tell us how stiff or stable the tip section is. Your original Vanquish 4 R2 is actually around 5.4° torque, while the VV Green 4 R2 is 6.1°. However, Mitsubishi redesigned the VV Green with a reinforced tip section and a higher kick point, specifically to provide better tip stability and a slightly lower, more controlled launch than the original Vanquish.
The VV Green 5 R2 at about 54 grams and 4.5° torque would feel heavier and more substantial. It may give you an even more controlled sensation, but at your approximately 78 MPH swing speed I would be a little cautious about adding weight unless you already know you prefer a heavier shaft.
The Tensei 1K Blue 55 R2 is also an excellent shaft and is offered by Titleist for the GTS2. It will have a more conventional, stable 55-gram feel, but it is still considered a mid-launch/mid-spin design. Therefore, I would not automatically choose it over the VV Green if your main goal is to preserve the light, easy-to-load Vanquish feel while bringing the trajectory down somewhat.
My order of preference for you would be:
- VV Green 4 R2 – best first choice
- VV Green 5 R2 – if you want a heavier, firmer-feeling setup
- Tensei 1K Blue 55 R2 – if you want to move away from the lightweight Vanquish feel toward a more traditional stable shaft
Since you are already getting better results from the C2 setting, I also would not make too drastic a shaft change. The VV Green 4 R2 looks like the most logical next step.
Jim
