Aftermarket Driver Shafts for Cobra — Assembled, Trimmed, and Ready to Install

Cobra's adjustable hosel system is one of the most player-friendly in the game — and that same adjustability makes swapping to an aftermarket shaft straightforward when you know what you're doing. Every shaft in this collection is built with a genuine Cobra-compatible adapter tip already epoxied, cured, and trimmed to your playing length before it ships. Seat it in your hosel, torque it down, dial in your loft setting, and you're done.

We now build for two Cobra adapter generations covering the full current and recent lineup. The OPTM LS, OPTM X, OPTM MAX-K, OPTM MAX-D, KING TEC Mini, and the full DS-ADAPT family all use the same adapter — select "King TEC Mini / OPTM / DS-ADAPT" from the dropdown. The DarkSpeed, Aerojet, Aerojet Max, LTDx, LTDx Max, Radspeed, and Radspeed XB use a separate adapter — select "DarkSpeed / Aerojet / LTDx / Radspeed" from the dropdown. Whether you just picked up an OPTM or you're gaming a Radspeed, we build for it. Select your exact generation from the adapter dropdown on any product page.

Every Tour Shaft Brand You'd Want, Built for Cobra

Cobra players are speed-focused by nature — and the shaft is where that speed either gets amplified or wasted. We carry the full spectrum of tour-validated options assembled with a genuine Cobra-compatible adapter tip: Fujikura Ventus (Blue, Black, Red, TR, VeloCore+), Graphite Design Tour AD (DI, IZ, VF, GC), Mitsubishi Diamana (BB, WB, RB), Project X HZRDUS, UST Mamiya, Aldila, Autoflex, KBS Tour, Grafalloy, Aretera, Alpha Golf, and BGT.

Not sure which shaft family suits your swing? Our Fujikura Ventus Shaft Guide, Graphite Design Shaft Guide, and Project X Shaft Guide break each family down by launch, spin, and swing speed so you can narrow it down before you commit. Or text our team at (408) 475-7570 — we build Cobra-compatible shafts daily and can match you to the right profile fast.

Custom Built In-House. Ships Complete.

Every shaft is assembled by our team before it leaves our facility — not outsourced, not drop-shipped, not passed off. The Cobra-compatible adapter tip is epoxied and cured, the shaft is trimmed to your exact playing length, and the grip is installed if you selected one. What shows up at your door is one complete unit measured tip to cap and ready to play.

Cobra's adjustable loft and lie settings remain fully functional after installation — you keep every degree of adjustability your driver was designed with. We've been doing this for over three decades. The build is precise, the turnaround is fast, and assembled shafts ship within 1 to 3 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding Assembled Shafts

What does an assembled shaft mean for a Cobra driver?

Cobra drivers use a proprietary hosel adapter system — a raw aftermarket shaft cannot simply be dropped into your clubhead without an adapter tip bonded to it first. An assembled shaft from us has the Cobra-compatible adapter already epoxied, cured, and trimmed to your specified playing length before it leaves our facility. What arrives at your door is a single complete unit — shaft, Cobra adapter tip, and grip if selected — ready to seat into your hosel and lock down with the wrench Cobra includes with every driver. No club builder, no epoxy, no wait.

Is the performance of a shaft affected by being pre-assembled before shipping?

No — pre-assembling a shaft before it ships has zero effect on performance. The epoxy bond, tip preparation, and trimming process we follow is identical to what any certified club builder or OEM assembly facility would perform. The shaft loads, unloads, and performs exactly as the manufacturer designed it to. The only thing that changes is that the work happens before delivery instead of after, saving you the labor cost and appointment time a pro shop would require.

Compatibility & Adapter Selection

Which Cobra driver models are compatible with these assembled shafts?

We build assembled shafts compatible with a wide range of Cobra driver models including the Aerojet, Aerojet Max, LTDx, LTDx Max, Radspeed, Radspeed XB, F9 Speedback, F8, King LTD, King F7, and more. Select your exact Cobra model from the adapter dropdown on the product page before ordering. If your specific model isn't listed in the dropdown, text our team at (408) 475-7570 and we'll confirm compatibility before you place your order.

Will a shaft built for my Cobra Aerojet fit my older Cobra driver if I upgrade later?

It depends on which models you're comparing. Cobra has used a consistent adapter system across several generations of their driver lineup, but there have been changes between certain model families. Before assuming interchangeability, text our team with both model names and we'll confirm whether the same adapter tip works across both — we build Cobra-compatible shafts every day and can answer this in seconds.

Is buying an assembled shaft cheaper than taking a raw shaft to a pro shop?

In the vast majority of cases yes — and by a meaningful margin. Pro shop installation typically adds $30–$75 in labor on top of whatever you pay for the shaft, and the Cobra-compatible adapter tip is usually an additional cost on top of that. Our assembled shaft price includes the genuine Cobra-compatible adapter tip and the complete build — epoxy, tip prep, trimming, and length setting — with nothing extra to pay. The build standard is identical. The savings are real.

Ordering & Build Specifications

What information do I need to provide when ordering a Cobra assembled shaft?

You will need to select your shaft model, flex, weight where multiple options are available, your specific Cobra driver model from the adapter dropdown, playing length, and grip if you want one included. Playing length is measured from the top of the adapter tip to the end of the grip cap — most driver builds fall between 44.5 and 46 inches depending on player height and preference. If you are unsure of your current playing length, measure your existing driver shaft before ordering or text our team and we'll walk you through it.

Can I get a shaft assembled for a Cobra fairway wood rather than a driver?

Yes — most shafts in this collection can be assembled for Cobra 3-wood, 5-wood, and 7-wood builds as well as driver. Fairway wood assemblies are tip-trimmed to a different specification than driver builds to account for the shorter playing length and the adjusted flex profile that produces, and we handle that adjustment during the build process. Select your club type and playing length at checkout. Note that once assembly begins on any custom build, the order cannot be returned or modified.

Shipping & Turnaround

How long does it take for a Cobra assembled shaft order to ship?

Most assembled shaft orders are built and shipped within 1 to 3 business days from the time of order. Orders placed before 2pm PT on business days are prioritized for same-day build start where build volume allows. If you're working toward a specific deadline — a tournament, a golf trip, or a gift — text us at (408) 475-7570 before ordering and we'll give you a precise turnaround estimate based on current queue.

What happens if the shaft isn't the right fit for my swing after I receive it?

Assembled shafts are custom-built to your exact specifications and are not eligible for return once assembly has begun. A shaft epoxied and trimmed specifically for your Cobra Aerojet at 45.5 inches cannot be restocked or rebuilt for another customer. This is why we strongly encourage using our shaft guide pages and reaching out to our team before ordering — getting the right shaft the first time is always the better outcome for everyone. Raw unassembled shafts purchased separately follow our standard return policy.
