WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Ventus Blue with VeloCore+ is a mid-launch, low-spin driver shaft and the most played shaft in the Ventus family -- built for golfers with swing speeds between 85-110 mph who want a consistent, penetrating ball flight with the face-stabilizing benefits of VeloCore+ technology. Re-engineered with updated materials and an ultra-stiff tip section, the Ventus Blue delivers the mid-launch, low-spin profile that has made it the go-to shaft for a wide range of players from mid-handicappers to PGA Tour professionals. Arrives fully assembled with your adapter and grip installed. Plug it in and play.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing between 85-110 mph and want a mid-launch, low-spin profile
  • Want to reduce spin without sacrificing enough launch to hurt carry distance
  • Are looking for the most versatile, well-rounded shaft in the Ventus lineup
  • Want VeloCore+ face stability and tighter dispersion at a proven price point
  • Have been gaming a high-spin stock shaft and want to upgrade to something more consistent
  • Want a shaft proven at the highest level of professional golf

Not the right fit if you...

  • Swing under 85 mph -- the Ventus Red or White will serve you better
  • Already launch too low and struggle to carry the ball -- the Ventus Red is the better call
  • Swing 110+ mph and need maximum spin reduction -- look at the Ventus Black
  • Want Spread Tow reinforcement and the latest VeloCore+ core upgrades -- look at the Ventus TR Blue instead

How It Plays

The Ventus Blue is built around an ultra-stiff tip, stiff mid, firm handle bend profile -- a configuration that suppresses spin efficiently while keeping the mid and handle sections responsive enough to load cleanly through transition. That balance is what makes the Blue the most versatile profile in the Ventus family: stiff enough for faster swingers who need spin control, flexible enough at the mid and handle for players who don't want the full stiffness of the Black.

VeloCore+ brings the multi-material bias core construction that stabilizes the clubhead at impact. The re-engineered version in the current Ventus lineup adds an additional premium bias core material that promotes tighter dispersion and increased ball speeds compared to the original VeloCore generation. For players upgrading from a standard stock shaft, the consistency improvement is typically noticeable from the first round.

The mid bend point sits in the middle of the shaft rather than high or low, which keeps the flex point neutral and the ball flight predictable across different swing types and tempos. Unlike the Ventus Red (low bend point, active tip) or Black (high bend point, ultra-stiff everywhere), the Blue's mid bend point means it rewards a wide range of swing styles without requiring precise timing or technique to get the most out of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the Ventus Blue designed for?

The 5 series works well from 85-100 mph depending on flex. The 6 series (R through TX) is the sweet spot for most players at 90-108 mph. The 7 series suits 100-110 mph players who want more stability. The 8 and 9 series are primarily for fairway woods. If you're between the Blue and Black, the Blue is typically the right call for anyone under 110 mph -- it still produces low spin without the full stiffness penalty of the Black.

What's the difference between the Ventus Blue and the Ventus TR Blue?

Same fundamental mid-launch, low-spin profile - but the TR Blue adds Spread Tow material in the mid and handle sections, which increases torsional stiffness and makes the shaft more resistant to twisting under aggressive transitions. The TR version also has a more refined tip section and upgraded VeloCore+ core construction for better face stability on off-center hits. Also important to note, the TR launches a touch lower (this is true for all TR vs non-TR models). If you have a moderate tempo and want the proven Ventus Blue profile at a broad weight selection, the standard Blue is the call. If you have an aggressive tempo or want the latest construction technology, the TR Blue is worth the step up.

Why does the Ventus Blue 5-R2 have a different bend point and launch profile than the rest of the 5 series?

The 5-R2 shifts to a Low/Mid bend point and Mid-High launch, which is intentional. At slower swing speeds (the R2 target), a mid bend point wouldn't load the shaft effectively enough to deliver the launch you'd expect from a Blue profile. Fujikura adjusted the bend point specifically for that flex to ensure the shaft delivers consistent, usable performance at that swing speed -- otherwise it would just feel stiff and low without the spin benefit. It's a subtle but important calibration that reflects the quality of Fujikura's engineering.

How does the Ventus Blue compare to the Speeder NX Gold?

Both are mid-launch, low-spin options for similar swing speed ranges but they use completely different technologies. The Ventus Blue uses VeloCore+ for face stabilization -- its priority is dispersion control and consistent contact. The NX Gold uses VTC for zone-specific torque management -- its priority is a smooth, connected feel and speed. The Blue tends to feel more stable and planted at impact. The NX Gold tends to feel more fluid and speed-oriented through the swing. Both are excellent -- the choice usually comes down to feel preference more than performance numbers.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes -- select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. The 8 and 9 series are specifically designed for fairway woods. The 8-S and 8-X suit 3-woods and 5-woods for players who want a mid-launch, low-spin flight with VeloCore+ stability. The 9-X is for 7-woods and 9-woods.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM adapter tip installed (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, Titleist, Mizuno, PXG, or Wilson) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Do average golfers even benefit from Ventus?

Definitely. Any player looking for more stability, more consistency can benefit from the Ventus VeloCore+ technology. You don't have to be scratch handicap. Tour players rely on Ventus, but really it's a shaft that provides guardrails helping to launch straighter with more accuracy. It never feels whippy or uncontrollable. We don't often recommend it for beginners because of it's price point. But for anyone that cares about how the shaft feels and wants to improve their game, it's a solid investment.

  • I want to a 45" playing length in my Callaway Elyte. Should I order adapter tip to grip at 44" or 43.75"?

You can order the grip to adapter tip length to be 44.0" for your Callaway ELYTE.

  • I play a Callaway Epic Speed and want to play it at 45”. Would I need adapter to grip length at 44”?

Based on the data we have now ..

    • Target Playing Length: 45.0"

    • Required Assembly Length (Tip to Grip): 43.75"

But if you still have the old shaft available , please follow the instruction below and measure it

Here are steps to measure your existing shaft for "Adapter tip to grip" length (which is what our club-builders need specified):

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    - Unscrew bottom screw/bolt from club head

    - Remove the club head from the shaft

    - Lay the shaft on a flat surface

    - Measure from the bottom of the adapter tip to the end of the grip in inches

If you are unable to do this measurement, or do not have an existing shaft there to measure just let us know and we will find a way to help.

  • TSR2 Driver and wanting to go with the Blue 6s S. Want a final playing length of 44.5. I believe the shaft tip to grip should be 43.5, but want to confirm, please.

yes, this Titleist driver head add 1" to the final play length . so 43.5" is the correct tip to grip length .

  • I play a callaway ai smoke max driver, I want the standard length shaft. What grip to tip length do I select?

    44.25"

that will give you the standard paly length of 44.75"

    grips4less

  • For a Qi10 Max driver, what is the suggested adapter tip to grip length?

The standard playing length for a TaylorMade Qi10 Max driver is 45.5 inches.

and the driver head contributes about 1" , so the tip to grip length = 44.5" for the standard settng

  • If I wanted to buy a replacement shaft for my Titleist GT3 to be a STANDARD length ie)Same as from the factory. What would I pick for the adapter to grip length? I am wanting to purchase a Fujikura Ventus Blue Velocore+ 6 stiff shaft for my GT3 head. Thanks Brian

For the Titleist GT drivers, you'll want to select 44.5" as the shaft ("adapter tip to grip") length to be 44.5". This will equate to standard final playing length. Let us know if you have any questions or need assistance!
